After the products are packed well, professional workers will load them and fixed them carefully into the container, to avoid breakage during the transportation.
There are several steps as follows:
1. Preparation before Installation
Test for Water Leakage of the Drainage: Before installation, first install the drainage fittings. Fill the bathtub with water, close the drain, and check for any water leakage. Pay special attention to the sealing of the overflow opening.
Plan the Location: Based on the size of the bathtub and the layout of the bathroom, determine the placement position of the bathtub, and ensure that the center point of the mixer tap aligns with the center point of the width of the bathtub.
2. Leveling and Fixing of the Bathtub
Leveling: When placing the bathtub, ensure that the end of the drain outlet is slightly lower than the other end to ensure smooth sewage discharge. If there is already a drainage slope at the bottom of the bathtub, no special adjustment is required.
Filling with Sand: For cast iron bathtubs, medium river sand needs to be laid at the bottom and compacted to enhance stability and heat insulation. Before filling with sand, seal the drain outlet with silicone sealant to prevent sand from entering the pipeline.
3. Installation of the Skirt Board and Tile Laying
Installation of the Skirt Board: The bottom of the skirt board should be closely attached to the ground, and a hole with a size of 250-300mm should be reserved at the drainage place for easy drainage installation. At the same time, set up an access hole on the wall at the end of the drainage.
Tile Laying: When laying tiles on the bathtub skirt, pay attention to aligning the joints with the floor tiles and wall tiles to enhance the aesthetic appearance. Before laying tiles, apply a layer of cement mortar on the surface and wait for two days to ensure firmness.
4. Connecting the Drainage and Testing
Connecting the Drainage Pipe: Connect the bathtub drainage pipe to the floor water outlet, ensuring a firm connection and easy disassembly. The connection part should not be open to prevent water leakage.
Testing the Drainage: After the installation is completed, conduct a drainage test. Observe whether the drainage speed is normal and check whether water overflows from the bottom of the bathtub.
5. Installation of the Tap and Shower Head
Installation of the Tap: The height of the cold and hot water tap or the mixer tap should be 150mm higher than the upper surface of the bathtub. When installing, pay attention to protecting the chrome plating layer and ensure that the chrome cover is closely attached to the wall.
Fixing the Shower Head: Install a fixed or flexible hose shower according to your needs to ensure convenient use.
6. Protection and Maintenance after Installation
Protecting the Bathtub: If there is still construction work after installation, the bathtub can be wrapped with a cardboard box to prevent the surface from being scratched.
Applying Silicone Sealant: Apply mildew-proof silicone sealant to the places where the bathtub contacts the skirt platform and the wall to keep the bottom of the bathtub dry and extend its service life.
